Commercial DSL Services

NetStar Technologies offers high performance Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) Services for your business in select cities across the United States. DSL Service is much faster and more cost-effective than ISDN or 56Kbps V.90 service. DSL converts ordinary copper telephone lines between a customer's home or business and the Regional Bell Operating Company's (RBOC's) central office into access paths for high-speed data communications (data, video, voice). Existing existing phone service is not impacted by DSL service installation. A DSL line simply looks like an additional phone line.
In addition, DSL Service is an always on dedicated connection, so you won't experience the connection delays and disconnects normally associated with dial-up and ISDN service. Unlike other cable or broadband services, DSL bandwidth is not shared with other users.

There are several types of DSL technology. The primary difference between these technologies is the speed which they operate. Some are best for home use, while others are designed to accommodate rigorous business demands. These include:

  • ADSL - Asymmetric DSL has greater download speeds than upload speeds.
  • HDSL - High bit-rate DSL is the oldest of the DSL technologies
  • IDSL - provides same speed transfer rates in each direction and can be deployed to users where other types of DSL are not available
  • RADSL - Rate Adaptive DSL makes it possible for a modem to adjust its transmission speeds
  • SDSL- Symmetric DSL transmits at the same download speeds and upload speeds
  • VDSL - Very high-rate DSL is the latest of the DSL technologies and can offer speeds up to 25 Mbps downstream and 3 Mbps upstream. Sometimes also called broadband digital subscriber line (BDSL).
Whether for business or the home, DSL offers unsurpassed value compared to other online access options.

How It Works

DSL utilizes a large range of frequencies, which means a higher bandwidth, which means a fast connection. When you make an ordinary telephone call, only a small fraction of your phone line capacity (bandwidth) is being used; that being only the low frequencies.  DSL takes advantage of this idle bandwidth by transporting data in the higher frequencies, thereby making it possible for you to talk on the phone and be on the Internet simultaneously.

Home Office Benefits

Accessing the Internet from your home office will never be the same. You will be able to download web pages and files at speeds up to 50 times faster than your dial-up connection giving you instant access to:

  • Music
  • Broadcasts
  • Videos
  • Gaming
DSL works over an ordinary copper telephone line. Because its dedicated, you will have an always-on connection giving you:
  • 24/7 access to the Internet without having to dial-up
  • No busy signals and annoying disconnections
  • Ability to talk on the telephone and surf the Internet at the same time

Small to Medium Size Business Benefits

By utilizing DSL, small-to-medium sized business can afford high-speed data access. Your business can connect it's entire office to the Internet at speeds that previously, only large corporations could afford. With DSL, your business now has the same high-speed access for such things as:

  • Hosting your company's web site
  • Exchanging information with business partners, suppliers and customers
  • Transferring large files
  • Increasing office productivity
Business packages ranging from IDSL 128k to SDSL 1.5M in speed are available. Most business class packages are synchronous providing the same download and upload speeds. Each business line is tested for guaranteed performance and supplied with a router with built-in firewall capabilities. All business DSL services are scalable to meet the demands of growing companies.

Enterprise Benefits

While small and medium size businesses can benefit from the high speed, reliable Internet access NetStar Technologies provides, it is larger enterprises with remote users and/or branch offices that can take full advantage of NetStar's DSL capabilities and national coverage.

NetStar's DSL Service is built on partnerships with numerous carriers and providers on a national scale so that we can offer a single source solution for national DSL Internet and local area network access. Because DSL technology requires the aggregation of several different types of organizations to create a cohesive solution and different local carriers have different service footprints, it's extremely difficult for a network manager to provision DSL connectivity on a large scale. Doing so requires:

  • Researching each region to determine the local carriers
  • Performing competitive analysis of local carriers with overlapping footprints
  • Establishing relationships with each different carrier selected (by choice or necessity)
  • Coordinating the installation process with different contacts from each carrier (one carrier may also install equipment from a different manufacturer than the next)
  • Keeping track of numerous contacts for technical support with various carriers or suppliers
NetStar has done all this work for you. We've already have the carrier partnerships in place. We takes care of all the installation and support issues. One single phone number is all you need to address any of these issues for all of your networked locations. Businesses of all sizes can enjoy advantages such as:
  • Worldwide high-speed internet access
  • Secure, reliable, cost-effective access
  • Download speeds up to 50 times faster than a dialup connection
  • No dialing in and logging on - no busy signals ever
  • Internet and intranet access for telecommuters
  • Connectivity between remote or branch offices and corporate headquarters

DSL Availability

Availability and speed of DSL connectivity are dependent upon the distance from your location to the nearest telephone company Central Office (CO) with a DSLAM (DSL Access Multiplexer) installed.
