DSL converts ordinary copper telephone lines between a customer's home or business and the Regional Bell Operating Company's (RBOC's) central office into access paths for high-speed data communications (data, video, voice). Existing existing phone service is not impacted by DSL service installation. A DSL line simply looks like an additional phone line.
In addition, DSL Service is an always on dedicated connection, so you won't experience the connection delays and disconnects normally associated with dial-up and ISDN service. Unlike other cable or broadband services, DSL bandwidth is not shared with other users.

There are several types of DSL technology. The primary difference between these technologies is the speed which they operate. Some are best for home use, while others are designed to accommodate rigorous business demands. These include:

• HDSL - High bit-rate DSL is the oldest of the DSL technologies

DSL utilizes a large range of frequencies, which means a higher bandwidth, which means a fast connection.
