Frame Relay Services

NetStar Technologies' Frame Relay Service allows faster Internet access than a modem without the expense of a dedicated T1 line. For organizations that are searching for cost-effective, high-speed Internet access, Netstar's  56 Kbps to DS-3 Frame Relay Service is the answer.

Frame Relay Service combines the high performance and security of a private line with the reliability and flexibility of a high–speed packet network. The service supports LAN and serial data communications protocols. You get the best of both worlds to support your Wide Area Network (WAN) requirements, nationwide and around the world.

Frame relay is a proven technology and is universally accepted as a telecommunication transmission standard. Frame relay architecture is based on the efficient switching of data packets over a shared digital network, ensuring optimal use of your bandwidth. A sophisticated digital network delivers the capacity to quickly and easily transfer your mission–critical information. Choose among NetStar's Frame Relay flexible circuit options so you pay only for what you need.

  • Permanent virtual circuits (PVCs) — PVCs are predefined connections through the network; throughput is fast and reliable.
  • Switched virtual circuits (SVCs) — SVCs are temporary connections, similar to a telephone call, and are a great solution for high-bandwidth, short-duration traffic, such as streaming video or network backups.
  • Asymmetrical PVCs — Asymmetrical PVCs are PVCs between two end-points where the speeds are different (e.g. 10 Mbps outbound and 5 Mbps inbound in one direction and 5 Mbps outbound and 10 Mbps inbound in the other direction).
NetStar understands that you have different traffic requirements in different locations. Most locations probably require Permanent Virtual Circuits (PVC) for their traffic volume. However, locations with low volume or casual users can take advantage of Switched Virtual Circuits (SVC), with usage–based billing.

To provide you with up–to–the–minute network performance information, Netstar provides you with a Customer Network Management Service allowing you to manage your network through a web client. You can view real-time and historical information and alarms, open trouble tickets, change PVC parameters, and request new service right from the convenience of your office. and to wrap it all up, with NetStar Technologies' Frame Relay Services, you receive superior customer service and support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
