M240 Medium Machine Gun
Proven at 26,000 mean rounds
between failure and tested at 55,000 MRBF, the M240 is the most reliable
machine gun in the world. Its steel receiver is designed to last over 100,000
rounds. It is the standard coaxial firearm for all U.S. armored vehicles
and is also available in infantry versions. Combined, these versions are
in use on land, sea and air by more than 70 countries. This is a U.S. made
version of the famous Belgian MAG 58. All M240 components are interoperable
with foreign-made NATO equivalent counterparts. Likewise, components between
versions are also interoperable. Barrels are interchanged quickly and easily
and no head space or timing adjustments are necessary. Available for law
enforcement and military only.
The spade-grip, pintle mounted
M240D was developed for use in military helicopters. Its smooth swing,
balance and shorter length make it ideal for vehicle and naval craft mounts.
An optional egress kit enables the use of the coaxial or pintle mounted
M240 weapons as ground role machine guns for self-defense by dismounted
crew members. It consists of the buttstock, trigger mechanisms and bipod.
It was developed in response to the need of pintle mount variant and has
an optical rail and other features to improve the utility of the firearm.
