Maritime Stabilized 2-Way Broadband Satellite Systems

High speed data transmission and multi-channel voice communications are as critical at sea as they are on land. Two-way fax, voice, multi-conferencing, Internet and video links improve day-to-day operations by bringing sea and shore together. NetStar Technologies' Maritime Stabilized 2-Way Broadband Satellite Systems are designed to withstand the tough marine environment that maritime operations represent. They allow users to have cost-effective, high-functioning, and flexible, large-scale two-way broadband multimedia network systems at sea.

NetStar's Maritime Stabilized 2-Way Broadband Satellite Systems are electronically controlled motion compensation antenna systems that are typically mounted on maritime vessels and offshore drilling/production platforms such as:

  • Cruise Ships
  • Naval Vessels
  • Research and Exploration Vessels
  • Drill Ships
  • Emergency Response Vessels
  • Semi-Submersible Platforms
  • Tension Leg Platforms
The systems are designed to run applications such as:
  • Voice
  • Fax
  • High Speed Data
  • Video and Images
  • Video Conferencing
  • Internet Access
NetStar's line of maritime systems provide both C-band and Ku-band services utilize components from several leading satellite technology vendors including:
  • Comtech EFData
  • iDirect Technologies
  • ViaSat
  • Sea-Tel

The Sea-Tel Stabilized Antenna System

NetStar Technologies Sea Tel satellite communications products are offered in two categories: the Series 96 and the Series 97. Series 96 and Series 97 are the new standard for seaborne tracking systems with MIL-spec performance at commercial prices. They represent the next generation of marine stabilized antenna systems for satellite communications at sea. And when Ka-band satellites come on line, these antennas are ready - with pointing accuracy so high you can have all the data intensive services on board that you would expect from a land-based system.

The Sea Tel Series 96 and 97 have many similarities. The primary differences in the categories are the size of the dishes and the structural requirements to support them. Series 96 Systems (transmit and receive) come with dish sizes of 1.0 meter, 1.2 meters and 1.4 meters. These are all linear Ku-band systems, upgradeable to Ka-band. Series 97 systems offer dish sizes of 1.5 meters, 2.05 meters and 2.4 meters. The 1.5 and 2.05 and 2.4 meter dishes are offered for linear Ku-band frequencies; the 2.05 and 2.4 meter dishes are also offered for linear C-band; and the 2.4 meter dish can also be used for circular C-band applications.

All Series 96 and Series 97 products embrace these features:

  • Less than .2 degrees mis-pointing at +/- 25 degrees roll and +/- 15 degrees pitch
  • Automatic satellite acquisition
  • Unlimited azimuth turning
  • Automatic linear polang positioning (N/A for circular systems)
  • Unlimited outdoor cable run and ACU data multiplexed on coax
  • Versatile gyrocompass interface
  • Conical Scan Tracking
  • CE marked
  • Meets or exceeds US Navy Mil-standards for vibration, EMI & RFI and Grade A shock
