The SRWS Lightning is a smaller, lighter version of SRWS. The SRWS Lightning is a remotely controlled, two-axis stabilized weapon system capable of continuous 360° of azimuth rotation and -15° to +45° of elevation movement. It can be configured with a variety of small caliber crew-served weapons such as the M240B 7.62-mm Machine Gun, the M249 5.56-mm Squad Automatic Weapon, and XM307/312 25-mm Machine Gun. The SRWS Lightning mounts on smaller combat service support (CSS) vehicles and can be used for perimeter defense. Its commonality with the SRWS minimizes logistic support. Sensor and user interface and user training are the same, and the systems have many common components.
